In October 2019, IP Prosecutor conducted the biggest raid action at Colon Free Trade Zone, and seized approximately 90,000 counterfeit clogs infringing 3D marks registered in Panama. Simultaneous raid actions in one showroom and two warehouses were conducted to assure the seizure of the counterfeit goods with the assistance of law enforcement and IP Prosecutors officials.
Upon conducting investigations and gathering samples of the counterfeit clogs, Moran IP submitted a Denunciation to initiate the criminal action.
The Colon Free Trade Zone, is located in Colon city, Republic of Panama and is the second largest free trade zone in the world, first in the Western Hemisphere. Panama IP Law provides power to IP Prosecutor and Customs to conduct inspections and seize goods infringing Intellectual Property Rights.
