On August 23, 2019, MORAN IP in coordination with the National Customs Authority, conducted a Brand Protection training directed to officials of the Airport Customs, Balboa Port, Directorate of Customs Prevention and Control (DPFA), the compounds Huzacapital and Flamenco Island, DHL and Judicial Branch officials, with the aim of providing key information to identify original and counterfeit products, as well as trends of illegal trade of products.
The event included the participation of Mr. Hugo Moran partner of MORAN IP, Mr.
Waldemar Oliveros of Customs Intellectual Property, Zahira Ruíz, Administrator
of the Eastern Zone and Rodolfo Samuda Deputy General Technical Director, who
emphasized that “The counterfeiting of goods must be seen as a teamwork, to
achieve the objectives where all the members of that team have a key role”.
The training was carried out by experienced professionals such as Ms. Julie Mejía, Brand Protection Regional Team Leader at PROCTER & GAMBLE, Ms. Judith A. Fernández, Regional Director of Legal Affairs for Latin America at ASW Group and Ms. Sandra Guerra, IP Counsel Latam of PHILIPS, by the National Customs Authority participated Mr. Waldemar Oliveros of the Intellectual Property Department and Maruquel Degracia of the Radiological Protection Unit. The collaborators who participated in the event extended their thanks to the speakers for the knowledge and experiences imparted, as they will be useful in their daily functions.
